About This Event

Mojo Mules, a dynamic duo consisting of John and Craig from Northampton, will perform at Louisa's Place in Leicester on September 2, 2026. Drawing inspiration from the street musicians of Mississippi and Chicago, Mojo Mules blend traditional soulful blues with contemporary flair, delivering an authentic and energetic musical experience. Their performance is set to capture the essence of classic blues for a modern audience, offering listeners a powerful and compelling journey through time. This show promises to be a vibrant celebration of the genre, ensuring that the rich history of blues music remains relevant and engaging in today's musical landscape.

John and Craig form the powerhouse blues band Mojo Mules. Both are dynamic multi-instrumentalist performers, steeped in the music of The Blues. Mojo Mules play blues straight from the soul, bringing traditional blues into the modern era with a contemporary twist.

The duo formed like many of the bluesmen of the Mississippi delta and Chicago by busking in the street. Both from Northampton, they met for the first time busking and immediately a musical connection formed. John's powerful voice and blazing guitar playing, which has been known to make women cry (in a good way.) Some comparisons of his playing have been made to Peter Green, BB King etc. Craig has been described as a virtuoso on the harmonica providing a soulful cry to their sound. Despite him having the disability Cerebral Palsy, Craig is known to turn his hand to many instruments including Keyboards and Lap steel guitar. Initially playing mostly acoustically they have more recently been playing in an electric setup with a great new rhythm section and Craig adding Hammond Organ and electric keys to their sound. This array of sounds enables them to play a broad church of Blues styles, drawing influence from the Texas, Delta and Chicago blues. This will be reflected in their debut album with a release planned for 2026.

Since their formation they have gone from strength to strength. Crafting an energetic live show that has impressed audiences all over the UK, performing at many blues festivals. Highlights include, Swanage Blues Festival, Broadstairs Blues Bash and Dereham Blues festival. Mojo Mules have set themselves apart, quickly establishing themselves as one of the UK's most exciting and versatile Blues acts. Whether playing a roaring solo or a hushed blues ballad they connect with audiences not just through sound - but through their soul and honesty. Mojo Mules are an act that never disappoint.

Doors open at 6:15pm. Performance begins at 7:30 pm and ends around 9:45pm with an interval half way through.
