PEACEPLUS Capacity Building and Networking Event, delivered through Donegal’s co-designed Local Community PEACEPLUS Action Plan.

This event will bring together PEACEPLUS-funded projects from across Donegal and the border region. While the primary audience is organisations and projects supported through PEACEPLUS, the event is also open to community groups, voluntary organisations, statutory agencies, and individuals from across the North-West who are committed to promoting peacebuilding, social inclusion, active participation, and positive community relations.

The event will provide an opportunity to share experiences, build new connections, learn from others, and strengthen the capacity of individuals and organisations to deliver meaningful community engagement. Through networking and collaboration, participants will explore ways to contribute to a more inclusive, connected, and peaceful society.

We are pleased to welcome guest speakers from the University of Notre Dame, Holywell Trust and the Intercultural Platform drawing on their extensive experience, they will share practical insights, innovative approaches, and lessons learned in the fields of peacebuilding, social inclusion, intercultural engagement, and cross-border cooperation.

Throughout the morning, participants will have the opportunity to:

Explore current opportunities and challenges in peacebuilding, good relations, and social inclusion across the region.

Exchange knowledge, experiences, and lessons learned from PEACEPLUS-funded initiatives and wider community programmes.

Connect with a diverse range of individuals and organisations working to strengthen communities across Donegal and the border region.

Develop new relationships and strengthen existing networks to support future cross-community and cross-border collaboration through the Changemakers Programme.

Identify opportunities for partnership working, shared learning, and collective action to promote positive change within communities.

By the end of the event, participants will have gained valuable insights, shared experiences with peers, and established new connections with organisations and individuals from across the North-West.
