Masterclass for Professionals - Providing Proportionate Support across the Irish Childhood Bereavement Care Pyramid

Agenda, Bios and more detail to follow soon....

This interactive masterclass will be hosted by Milford Care Centre and Estelle McGinley (Senior Social Worker at Millford Care Centre and ICBN Project Advisory Group). It will explore how professionals can respond to the diverse needs of bereaved children and young people, using the Irish Childhood Bereavement Care Pyramid as a framework for understanding appropriate and proportionate support.

Led by members of the Irish Childhood Bereavement Network Project Advisory Group, the workshop will explore the four levels of the Pyramid, and the influencing factors of time, developmental stage, and family context, drawing on practice-based examples to examine what effective support looks like at each level, how children's needs can be recognised, and when additional support may be appropriate.

Through facilitated learning, discussion, and a panel Q&A, participants will deepen their understanding of their own role within the wider bereavement support landscape and the importance of collaborative, responsive care.

Facilitated by: The Irish Childhood Bereavement Network Project Advisory Group Members - Bríd Carroll (ICBN Chair), Anne Staunton (Rainbows Ireland), Estelle McGinley (Milford Care Centre), Gina Cantillon (Barnardos Children's Bereavement Service). The Panel will include inputs from Orla Keegan (Irish Hospice Foundation) and Fionnuala Curry (CYPSC)
