Speaker: Phil Willcox, Founder at Emotion at Work

Topic: Anger, Contempt and Disgust - The Emotions You Wish You Were Marketing Properly

Everyone in marketing knows ’emotion sells’, but most treat it as one vague feeling rather than a set of precise practices.

In this talk, Phil breaks down the specific emotional triggers your competitors are too polite, or too lazy, to use properly: from the frustration of a broken promise to the unsaid judgement of standards not met, to the powerful pull away from something which feels contaminated or fake.

You’ll leave with at least two hooks or lines which use emotion with real intent, ready to drop into your marketing content the very next day.

Phil Willcox is the founder of Emotion at Work, and has spent over 20 years working with the science of emotion to help people harness it constructively rather than avoid it. He consults, coaches and works with organisations across the public and private sector to build workplaces where people feel safe, confident and optimistic. His expertise in Emotional Intelligence and Behaviour Analysis means he brings real precision, not guesswork, to what he does. For this event, he’ll apply that same precision to how marketers can put emotion at work in what they write.
