About This Event

Tower Tours at St. Peter's Church in Lincoln will open the church's tower to the public for Gamston Heritage Day on 19 September 2026. Attendees can climb to gain views of the village and North Nottinghamshire. The event allows exploration of the Medieval Tower of St. Peter's. Tickets are priced at £6.13.

We are opening St Peter's Tower to the public for Gamston Heritage Day. Climb to see amazing views of the Village and North Nottinghamshire.

Explore the Medieval Tower of St. Peter's, and enjoy the most magnificent views in Gamston and surrounding countryside.

The view from the top of St. Peter's 14th century tower is breathtaking, we are fortunate to be in an elevated position over the river Idle and the whole of the valley is visible.

Please note, before you purchase a ticket for this event we need to make you aware of a few things:

Weather permitting, the tours may be cancelled if the weather is bad.

Children must be 7 years or over and accompanied by an adult.

Number per tour is restricted to 6.

Please arrive at the west door of the tower at least 10 minutes before the tour starts.

There is no public carpark attached to the church and the is limited on street parking in the village. Additional car parking is available less than 1/4 mile/5 minute walk away at the village primary school.

To gain access to the top of the tower there are 96 steps to climb and the access hatch measures approx. 30” wide x 42” high. You remain responsible for ensuring that you are physically and otherwise suitably fit to participate in the tower tour.

You agree to take reasonable care for your own safety and to follow all reasonable instructions, safety procedures, warnings and rules provided.

Upon your arrival, you will be asked to sign to agree to the following before ascending the stairs of the tower. There will be no refunds on the day, should you decide against signing the form.

TOWER TOUR DISCLAIMERTHIS DOCUMENT IS IMPORTANTPLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND IT BEFORE YOU SIGN ITThis form is important and should be read carefully and your attention is particularly drawn to all sections.You must sign at registration at St. Peter's Church ("the Organisers") prior to participating in a tower tour ("the Activity").I HAVE HAD IT EXPLAINED TO ME AND UNDERSTAND THAT:"The Activity" may be physically and mentally challenging and potentially dangerous. You are strongly advised to wear robust footwear with good grip. The tower staircase comprises 96 steps and the treads are not consistent in height or tread length. In part, space in the staircase is very confined.The Activity may be unsuitable for persons with heart or respiratory conditions. The Activity may expose you to surface hazards and varying weather conditions including (but not only) sudden strong winds. Evacuation of sick or injured persons may be difficult and prolonged. There is a risk of serious injury and/ or death associated with my participation in "the Activity" although adherence to strict safety standards and health & safety assessments minimises these risks, they cannot be completely eliminated.AGREEMENT:I have read and fully understand all the terms of this disclaimer. I confirm that l am not relying on any statements or representations by any person or entity as an inducement to my fully and voluntarily engaging in "the Activity" and assuming the risks and obligations stated above in signing this document.I acknowledge that the nature of my participation in "the Activity" is potentially hazardous and that if l am unwilling to accept the risks associated with my participation, I should not take part.I understand that any and all likenesses of me captured during "the Activity" by "theOrganiser", shall become the sole property of "the Organiser".If any court or competent authority finds that any provision of this document (or part of any provision) is invalid, illegal or unenforceable, that provision or part-provision shall, to the extent required, be deemed to be deleted, and the validity and enforceability of the other provisions of this agreement shall not be affected.I CONFIRM THAT:I am 18 years of age or older. I am fully aware of the risks to myself, my dependents (under the age of 18) and others associated with participation in "the Activity". The risks include damage to or loss of personal property, personal injury and in extreme cases, death.I will comply with all instructions given to me by "the Organiser's" volunteers.
