Award-winning garden designer Annie Guilfoyle discusses her journey to 10th Garden Masterclass 9-11 April '27 & how Liverpool can best host

Join Scouse Flowerhouse at Calderstones Mansion for an afternoon conversation with garden designer Annie Guilfoyle, ahead of the Garden Masterclass we are bringing to Liverpool on 9–10 April 2027.

Annie is an award-winning garden designer and director of Creative Landscapes. She founded the garden design programme at KLC School of Design and directed it for eighteen years, is Garden Course Consultant at West Dean College in West Sussex, and teaches a design course at Great Dixter, where we (Scouse Flowerhouse members) met Annie. She has also served as an RHS judge at the Chelsea Flower Show. Together with Noel Kingsbury, she has run Garden Masterclass since 2017, offering inspiration and learning to garden and landscape people through live workshops, webinars and films. This visit in November is for us to scope with Annie the best venue and to discuss magnetic, current themes. Fergus Garrett, our much-loved Patron, has suggested the theme of Intergenerational Sharing of Passion and Skills for Gardening. Scouse Flowerhouse operates at a meeting point between community gardens and urban ecology, and we understand the important role that private gardens and gardeners have in the co-creation of our urban mosaic of habitat - which is our Society's core purpose.

This event is co-hosted by the Friends of Calderstones Park and Jane Davis, Founder of The Reader Organisation and Gardener at Calderstones Mansion, who has recently attended a course at Great Dixter.
