Sisters will play at Commune in Liverpool on 29 October 2026 at 19:00. The band was formed in Liverpool and has since played tracks on BBC Radio and headlined shows at Rough Trade. Tickets are priced at £8.00.
Sisters
Conceptually, ‘Sisters’ was born in many different places at many different times. The weepy-ethereal-grunge-rock band first took form in Liverpool after five unsuspecting musicians who all moved for university to study music often found themselves ending up in a room together making music.
Lead singer, Gigi born in Brooklyn first met drummer James in Michigan at 16, the rest of the band were initially scattered across the globe as well, bass player Odelia being from Baltimore, synthesist Mira from Switzerland & guitarist Lewis being from a small town outside of London.
When Sisters hit the Liverpool scene it didn’t take them very long to get on the good side of audience members & promoters. In only one year they had their tracks played on BBC Radio, headlined Rough Trade & completely an east coast tour in America. They're coming off the back of a UK tour that spanned eight cities in the space of two weeks!
They’ve featured in Boot magazine, landing a performance slot plus interview for New Cult which is Heist or Hit’s showcase night in Manchester & they recently performed & recorded a set of 4 songs from their ‘Bite’ EP at Low Four Studios in Manchester.
steel.
Touted as the premier post-punk band in the Scouse underground scene & named ‘ones to watch’ by Future Yard at Beacon Fest following a string of high profile supports including Big Joanie, Lou Barlow (Dinosaur Jr), Losse Articles & Skating Poly. Plus a headline show in Future Yard to launch their brand new ‘a state of it all’ EP.
DIY, unsigned & completely independent steel. has built an audience & opportunities through word of mouth while making real connections with people in the Liverpool music scene.
Championed by scene legends like Steph Phillips (Big Joanie / Decolonise) & LOUD WOMEN, steel. has started to grow outside of Liverpool continuing the momentum with several festival slots last summer including a show at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton.
