The Man Behind the Hall: Joseph Mayer

Joseph Mayer was a Victorian philanthropist, collector, and lover of art who devoted much of his life to providing education and culture for the people of Bebington. He built and endowed the hall and surrounding facilities so the local community could enjoy lectures, exhibitions, and a free library.

Some believe his presence may still linger in the building he created and gifted to the village, watching over the hall and those who step inside.
