Fronted by Liverpool-born singer Terrance John Connor (stage name Karl Terry), the band originated as a skiffle group called The Gamblers in the mid-1950s before officially becoming Karl Terry and The Cruisers around 1957. Cavern & Hamburg Pioneers: They were regulars on the iconic Cavern Club stage in Liverpool and played alongside legendary acts during the peak of the Merseybeat era, including stint performances in Hamburg's Reeperbahn clubs. Cavern DJ Bob Wooler famously nicknamed Karl "The Sheik of Shake" due to his energetic live performances. The "Beatmakers" Supergroup: On October 19, 1961, Karl Terry fronted a legendary one-off supergroup at Litherland Town Hall named "The Beatmakers," which combined members of The Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Pete Best) and Gerry and the Pacemakers (Gerry Marsden, Les Chadwick, Les Maguire). Enduring Legacy: Voted among the top Merseybeat groups in local polls in the early 1960s, Karl Terry has remained an active rock 'n' roll frontman for decades, continuing to perform original tracks and classic sixties hits across the UK. Shooter Keith Hubbard, Mike Rimmer & Dave Aindow. Shooter is a popular Northwest 1950s and 60s revival band based in the Merseyside/Southport area, created and fronted by lead guitarist and vocalist Keith Hubbard. Formation: Keith Hubbard formed Shooter in 1983 to deliver an authentic, high-energy reproduction of classic 50s rock 'n' roll and 60s Merseybeat. Keith Hubbard's Musical Roots: Before establishing Shooter, Keith performed with early Merseyside groups like The Rebels, played Liverpool's famous Cavern Club with his group Caliban (including performing on the original Cavern Club's final night), toured in the UK stage production of the musical HAIR, and played with 70s hitmakers Chicory Tip. Signature Sound: Centered around Keith's signature Fender Stratocaster playing style and harmony vocals, the band performs hits by artists like The Beatles, The Shadows, Roy Orbison, and Buddy Holly across theaters, festivals, corporate functions, and charity shows.
