Create your own decorative smudge stick

Choose from a selection of herbs grown at Earth Moves and create your own personalised bundle.

This gentle, hands-on workshop combines ecotherapy, nature connection, creativity and wellbeing.

What is Ecotherapy?

Discover how spending time in nature and engaging with the natural world can support mental and emotional wellbeing.

The history and cultural context of smudge sticks

Explore the different traditions surrounding the use of herbs, plants and smoke, including the importance of respecting Indigenous traditions and avoiding cultural appropriation.

Herbs, flowers and plants

Learn about different plants, their traditional uses, scents and properties, and how we can make responsible choices about what we harvest.

🌍 Sustainable harvesting

Learn simple ways to harvest plants respectfully and sustainably, without damaging the ecosystems they come from.

We'll finish with some quiet mindful reflection:

How did making my smudge stick make me feel?

Did you feel calmer, more grounded, creative or connected?

🌿 A creative activity for wellbeing, connection and curiosity.

Suitable for anyone interested in nature, plants, creativity, ecotherapy, mindfulness and wellbeing.

Please note: This workshop explores smudge-stick making from an educational and ecological perspective. We will emphasise respectful cultural awareness and sustainable, locally appropriate plant use rather than appropriating Indigenous ceremonial practices.
