An untimed 5K run to remember Neil, Dave and all fallen officers, to bring our community to together to support families & raise awareness.

This 5K community run is held in remembrance of two Merseyside police officer, Neil Doyle & Dave Phillips, and in support of the families they left behind. Organised in partnership with the Doyle Phillips Foundation, the event brings people together to honour their memory, raise awareness of the charity’s work, and show continued support for those affected by loss.

The Doyle Phillips Foundation was established as a lasting legacy to remember PC Neil Doyle and PC Dave Phillips, supporting the families of police officers and staff who have died through service or tragic circumstances.

This is a non-chip timed, inclusive 5K, open to runners, joggers and walkers of all abilities. The focus is not on competition, but on coming together as a community to reflect, to remember, and to stand in unity with the families and colleagues of fallen officers.

Memorial runs have long been a powerful way for communities to come together. Previous events in Merseyside have seen hundreds — even thousands — take part to honour officers and raise significant funds for related causes. The Doyle Phillips Foundation itself has also previously brought people together through fundraising events and memorial initiatives, including earlier runs and virtual events that gained strong community support.

Following the success of earlier events held a number of years ago, this run marks a return and an opportunity to once again gather, remember, and continue building that sense of unity and support.

Above all, this event is about:

Remembrance – honouring the lives and service of two officers

Awareness – supporting the ongoing work of the foundation

Community – bringing people together in solidarity

Support – standing alongside the families who continue to live with loss

Whether you run, walk or simply take part, every step is taken in their memory. Children are permitted to participate on their bikes or scooters as long as they are capable and accompanied by an adult.
