About This Event

The Psychology of the Restless Mind event will take place at Quaker Meeting House Liverpool on 7 April 2027 at 19:00. Led by David Oromith, the evening will explore themes of overthinking through Buddhist psychology and guided meditation. Ticket prices range from £9.38 to £16.96.

Why does the mind keep overthinking? An evening of Buddhist psychology, guided meditation and questions with David Oromith in Liverpool.

Ever found yourself lying awake, restless, overthinking tomorrow’s maybes? Or going over and over something you said yesterday, knowing it does no good, but doing it anyway?

Why is the human mind so restless, why does it keep going over things, and what can we do when it won’t stop?

Join Buddhist teacher David Oromith for an evening on overthinking and anxiety. David will draw on over a decade of teaching Buddhism, years working in mental health services, and his own experience of anxiety and overthinking.

Come along to explore things like:

Why our minds can be so restless, and the reasons we overthink

How Buddhist psychology understands anxious thinking

How meditations practised for over 2,500 years can help us work with anxious thoughts and feelings

Practical ways to relate to our thoughts differently

The evening contains a short guided meditation, talk, and time for questions.

Who’s it for?

Anyone who finds their mind hard to switch off, or who is curious about the restless, overthinking mind. No experience of meditation is needed.
