Join us in Soho for a fun Pre-Diwali night of food, drink, live performances, and giving back!

The London chapter of Social Capital Initiatives is hosting an evening in Soho to raise money for one of our on-going projects in India - supporting women to develop a profitable and sustainable business through raising goats.

The evening itself will be warm and lively, in line with the pre-Diwali theme. We are bringing together food, drinks, music, community, and a cause worth supporting.

Expect desi snacks, refreshments and mingling, followed by an introduction to Social Capital Initiatives, not only focused on the specific project we are fundraising for, but more about the methodology of Social Capital Credits (SoCCs), which encourage communities to reinvest and grow through the exchange of goods, services, talent, and action rather than monetary lump sums. Our charity supports these types of projects in several countries, including India.

Live performances will begin with Indian classical featuring sitar, tabla and more, brought to you from musicians practicing and teaching at the Bhavan and beyond.

To finish, a member of our London chapter and singer and song-writer will take the stage to perform her own work in English, bringing a contemporary flavour to the evening.

The evening is raising funds for a goat-rearing initiative supporting women farmers in India. The programme SoCCs GROW helps women build more secure and sustainable livelihoods through training, access to finance and support in establishing small goat-rearing businesses. Proceeds from ticket sales will go directly towards supporting this project.

Dress code

Festive / smart casual. A touch of colour, sparkle or South Asian dress is warmly encouraged (but absolutely not compulsory). We will have some jewelery and props around for photos. Come for the food and music, meet someone new, learn more about the work we are supporting, and help us grow the Social Capital Initiatives London Chapter.
