C(P)LAY invites you to an open sharing of As I Remember It, a new contemporary dance work currently in development.

What happens when two people remember the same thing differently?

As I Remember It explores the instability of memory and the ways our recollections are shaped, questioned and reconstructed through our encounters with one another. Through movement, repetition, conversation and physical tasks, the work looks at what happens when two people hold different versions of the same event.

This open sharing offers an early glimpse into the work and an opportunity to experience it while it is still evolving. The sharing will last approximately 10–15 minutes, followed by an open Q&A and feedback session with the artists.

Rather than looking for a single “correct” interpretation, we are interested in what you notice, remember, question or feel while watching. Your responses will become part of the ongoing conversation around the work and help us reflect on its development.

The event will also offer an informal space to meet and connect with artists, dancers, choreographers, makers and audiences from London’s independent dance and performance community.

No previous knowledge of contemporary dance or C(P)LAY’s work is required. Whether you are an artist, arts practitioner, student, or simply curious about contemporary performance, you are very welcome to join us.
