On Bank Holiday Monday, 29 August 2026, Novotel London West will host an exciting hiking tour to Cornwall, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and iconic landmarks such as Land's End and its pristine golden beaches. The itinerary also encompasses a delightful visit to an ice cream farm, offering participants the chance to enjoy a sweet treat after their exertions. This day out promises to be packed with outdoor activities amidst the beautiful Cornish scenery. On this trip, we're staying at the 4-star Esplanade Hotel overlooking the iconic Fistral Beach in Newquay – famous for its surf and some of the best sunsets in Cornwall! The hotel features a pool, sauna and jacuzzi.

Spectacular views of the majestic St Michael's Mount. This tidal island can be reached by an ancient, cobbled causeway, which only opens at low tide and is covered by the sea at high tide.

Bedruthan Steps – a sweeping sandy beach famous for its towering rock stacks

Dramatic cliff scenery with sweeping views of offshore islands, rocky stacks, natural arches and Mullion Island

White sand and turquoise waters at the breathtaking Kynance Cove

ITINERARY

Day 1 – Saturday (29/08):

06:45 Meet outside Hotel Novotel London West, 1 Shortlands, W6 8DR (a five-minute walk from Hammersmith Station)

07:00 Sharp departure

13:30-18:30 Cliff-top hike from Porthcothan Beach to Porth Beach via Bedruthan Steps (difficulty: Moderate, distance: 14km, ascent: 450m)

18:45 Check-in at the Esplanade Hotel in Newquay, next to Fistral Beach

19:00 Free time for dinner, swimming and exploring Newquay's beaches. Please book a table in advance for 19:30 if you prefer to eat out. Recommended: Fish House Fistral (the best seafood restaurant in Cornwall) and Lewinnick Lodge.

Day 2 – Sunday (30/08):

07:30 Breakfast

08:30 Departure

09:30-13:30 Hike from Mullion Cove to Lizard Point via Kynance Cove (difficulty: Easy, distance: 12km, ascent: 370m)

13:30-15:00 Lunch in Lizard village, free time to buy souvenirs

15:30-16:15 Stop at Roskilly's Ice Cream Farm, one of Cornwall's best known ice cream makers

17:00 Back to our hotel, free time to relax by the sea in Newquay. Please book a table in advance if you prefer to eat out for dinner.

Day 3 – Monday (31/08):

07:30 Breakfast

08:30 Departure

10:00-13:30 Hike from Land's End to Porthcurno Beach (difficulty: Easy, distance: 9km, ascent: 220m)

14:00-15:00 Lunch in Marazion, next to the iconic Cornish landmark of St Michael’s Mount, free time to cross the tidal causeway

15:00 Departure

21:30 London, Hammersmith

TRANSPORT

As on most of our trips, we'll travel in a comfortable 16-seater minibus.

LUGGAGE

You can bring two small bags with you: one cabin size personal item bag (up to 10kg) and one smaller hiking backpack to fit under the seat. During the hike, you can leave your luggage in the minibus.
