The British Bangla Chess Association (BBCA) is proud to organise another 6-round FIDE-rated rapid tournament.

The venue is a 5-minute walk from Whitechapel, Aldgate East, and Aldgate Underground stations.

TOURNAMENT DETAILS

Time Control: 10 minutes + 05 seconds increment per move from move 1.

Format: 2 separate sections

1. OPEN – open to all players

2. MAJOR – For players rated U 1700

Rating: The higher of your September 2026 FIDE Rapid or ECF Rapid rating will be used.

If you have no rapid ratings, Standard or Blitz ratings will be used.

Unrated players are welcome but will receive 50% of any prize and are not eligible for rating prizes.

PRIZES FOR BOTH SECTIONS

We are pleased to inform you that the prize money for both sections have been increased although we have kept the entry fee unchanged.

*1st Prize: £100

* 2nd Prize: £60

*Rating Prizes: 6x £35 each for U 2000, U1900, U1800, U1500, U1200 & U1000

No player can win more than one prize. Tied prizes will be shared equally.

All Junior participants will be awarded a BBCA medal.

ENTRY FEE

£25 per player for both sections

£20 discounted for: BBCA members, adult female players, and juniors until 18th Birthday.

BBCA junior members will pay £15.

ELIGIBILITY

All participants must be at least ECF Gold members and have a FIDE ID.

ENTRY ON THE DAY

Late entries: £30 cash, subject to availability.

We have only 50 places to offer and we will follow a First Come, First Served policy.

FIDE Rapidplay rules apply. The Chief Arbiter’s decision will be final in any dispute

BBCA reserves the right to modify the tournament structure and prizes if required.

Refund Policy: Cancellations will be allowed until Thursday 13th August and entry fee will be refunded by deducting £5 admin cost
