The Official Book Launch | Live Music | Inspirational Conversations | Special Guests

Thursday 4th February 2027 | Soul Mama, Islington

Join award-winning filmmaker, bestselling author and motivational speaker Fredi Nwaka for an unforgettable evening celebrating the official launch of his powerful book, BOY: When You Find the Boy, You Discover the Man.

A survivor of child abuse, fostered to a white family in Kent from 3 months old, Ex Gang member with over 45 friends lost to violent crime, the only UK rapper to be signed to Wu Tang, Ex Bodyguard.... he's got 'lots' to unpack!

Hosted by the extremely funny Nina Greywoode, who's story is very similar to Fredi's, this special An Audience With event promises an intimate evening of honest conversations, inspirational storytelling, laughter, reflection, great food and incredible live music.

Drawing on his extraordinary journey from growing up in the care system and experiencing gang life to becoming an award-winning filmmaker, author and entrepreneur, Fredi shares the experiences that inspired BOY — a deeply personal exploration of childhood, identity, trauma, masculinity, healing and discovering the man within.

The evening will feature support from an incredible line-up of specially invited guests, including legendary British soul singer Omar, the Queen of Lovers Rock Carroll Thompson, Award winning actor Charles Venn, R&B sensation Kele Le Roc, and many more.

Expect an uplifting celebration of music, storytelling and human connection, with opportunities to meet Fredi, purchase signed copies of BOY and connect with some truly inspirational people.

Whether you've read the book, followed Fredi's journey or simply enjoy great live music, good food and meaningful conversation, this is an evening not to be missed.

More than a book launch. It's a celebration of life, resilience, healing and the power of finding yourself.
