The Annual Brigham-Kanner Property Rights Conference will take place on October 14-16th, 2026.

The Brigham-Kanner Property Rights Conference is hosted by William & Mary Law School in partnership with Queen Mary Unversity of London School of Law. This conference is the premier U.S. gathering of property experts from the legal academy and the practicing bar. Throughout the conference and at the Award dinner we will honor James Penner, recipient of the 2026 Brigham-Kanner Property Rights Prize.

Brigham-Kanner Prize Reception & Dinner - October 16

It will be held at the Old Hall of Lincoln's Inn. There will be a cocktail reception from 6 - 7 PM with dinner to follow. During the dinner, Professor James Penner will be awarded the Brigham-Kanner Property Rights prize. Lincoln’s Inn is an eleven-acre estate located in central London. The main entrance to the estate is located off Lincoln’s Inn Fields at the junction with Newman’s Row and Serle Street (Postcode: WC2A 3QA) The estate is conveniently located only a short walk from either Holborn or Chancery Lane tube stations.

The Conference includes the presentation of the 2026 Brigham-Kanner Property Rights Prize, which will be awarded to Professor James Penner at the dinner the final evening of the Conference.

The Conference's Hotel Block is at The Welbeck Hotel (https://www.ihg.com/spnd/hotels/gb/en/london/lonmr/hoteldetail?cm_mmc=GoogleMaps-_-SP-_-GB-_-LONMR)The Block includes 50 rooms with reservation availability between Tuesday, October 13 - Saturday October 17. Standard room rates are L350.00 per night, inclusive of VAT and with breakfast provided.

If any guests wish to upgrade to a nicer room, they are free to do so and still be counted towards the Block, but they will need to pay the market rate for the upgraded room.

The Block will officially close on September 3, 2026, so it is imperative that guests reserve their rooms ASAP.
