Jazz, Reggae, Ska Respect is due to the elders. Bammi was an original member of the genre-busting Cymande, he’s played alongside everyone from Aswad and Jazz Jamaica to Paul Simon and Miriam Makeba. Bammi will be touring the UK throughout the Summer with Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra where he has been a mainstay for 20 plus years. We are extremely happy that he is able to fit us into his schedule for his patented selection of vintage joyous jazz, ska and reggae. Come rain or shine, as we can take shelter in the greenhouse and under marquees if the weather is unkind to us. Join us for a wonderful session of seriously good sounds! About Mambista Mambista ran as a monthly club night at The Portico in West Norwood until NYE 2024 with live music from bands such as Sexteto Café, Yaaba Funk, Balkanatics, Grupo Lokito, Nerija, Krar Collective and Da Lata alongside the patented Mambista mash-up on the decks, courtesy of founder, DJ Gerry Lyseight (co-founder of Brixton’s legendary Mambo Inn, Mango Landin’, ex-presenter of Planet Mambo on GLR/BBC London). Follow the signs. If you are driving to the gig, we recommend parking your car on Dulwich Road or near Dulwich Road. Entrance and exit from the Park should be via the Park’s Lido Gates on Dulwich Road. The park will be dark when you leave the gig so everyone must leave in groups with torches.
