Cat Rose is a rising folk–indie-pop singer-songwriter based in Plymouth. Cat has storytelling, atmospheric music that drifts between darkness, whimsy and magic. A student of The Barbican Theatres Rebels Music and awarded funding by Youth Music, Cat has quickly established herself as a compelling new voice in the South West and Cat is making waves across the UK and beyond! Cat is a multi award winning song writer, running 2nd in the South West Heat singer song-writer competition 2022 and featured on Sofar Sounds 2024.

Her debut EP WasteLand, released in 2025, is a deeply immersive listening experience that unfolds like a storybook of isolation, resilience, and imagination. Built on ethereal textures and haunting melodies, the record explores themes of mental health, neurodiversity, and working-class identity. Listen with Monger has compared Cat’s voice to Laura Marling's. All tracks from WasteLand featured on BBC Introducing, with host Tom Williams describing Cat as “a brilliantly talented songwriter with an interesting insight and a very funny creative personality — it comes across in her music.”

Cat has played X3 sell out shows at the B Bar, The Barbican Theatre Plymouth, joined by local legends and emerging artists such as Daisy Mae. Cat also went on her WasteLand UK solo tour, where she visited destinations including Exeter, Bristol, London, Brighton, Liverpool, Darlington, and Newcastle. Cat's song 'Seagulls' has got almost 50,000 streams across the world and her debut WasteLand EP reaching over 16,000 streams!

With a growing audience, strong BBC support, and a distinctive artistic identity, Cat Rose is an artist to watch. With exciting plans and announcements lined up for 2026, Cat supported Rolling Stone accredited Taynee Lord on her Pretty Promises tour, performed at Sound Factory festival featuring on the BBC Introducing stage, opened for Altitude festival on the main stage and she has been nominated for a West Country Woman Award in 'Women in arts media and culture.' On 31st October 2026, Cat's anticipated debut album ‘I Know The Dark’ will be released with a full band headline show in the main auditorium at The Barbican Theatre Plymouth, this is only the beginning of her journey.
