About Cinderella

Cinderella at Sadler’s Wells Theatre sees New Adventures return this Christmas for the 30th Anniversary celebration of Matthew Bourne’s production. Set in London during the Second World War, it is a wartime love story built around a chance meeting between Cinderella and a young RAF pilot.

The pair share a magical night together before being separated by the Blitz. The production features Lez Brotherston’s Olivier Award-winning designs, lighting by Olivier Award-winning Neil Austin, video and projection design by Duncan McLean, and sound design by Paul Groothuis, all set against Prokofiev’s score and the sights and sounds of war-torn London.

Matthew Bourne’s interpretation of the classic fairytale focuses on romance, loss and the experience of London during wartime, presented through dance, music and design.

Running time: 2 hours 20 minutes, including 2 intervals.
