About This Event

The Lord Hendy Charity Routemaster Tour will depart from Bus Stop Q in London on 3 September 2026 at 18:00. The tour includes guides discussing the development of the City of London. Tickets are priced at £107.96.

Join Lord Hendy and Peter Murray OBE and guides from the teams delivering change in the development of the City of London

We’ve got a fantastic line up of expert guides for this year’s tour which looks at the Square Mile’s burgeoning development scene, the demand for Grade A space, viability, Destination City and Matthew Pennycook’s “unnecessary and anti-growth” intervention in the progress of the City Plan 2040.

The tour commences in Fleet Street with a welcome from Tom Sleigh, Chairman of the Planning and Transportation Committee, and Lady Lucy French, Chief Executive of Fleet Street Quarter, setting the context for the area’s renewal and the emerging Justice Quarter. From there, the route includes the City Cluster, Broadgate, the Barbican and the London Museum, the first phase of which is due to open in November.

Commentary will be provided by practitioners and stakeholders directly connected with each of the buildings: John Bushell of KPF on Peterborough Court, Panorama St Paul's and 70 Gracechurch Street; Eric Parry of Eric Parry Architects on the Justice Quarter, 50 Fenchurch Street and One London; Dolunay Dogahan of

CO-RE on Stonecutter and 130 Fenchurch Street; Paul Williams of Stanton Williams on the London Museum; James Taylor of Woods Bagot on 85 Gracechurch Street; Ed Williams of Fletcher Priest on 63 St Mary Axe and 55 Old Broad Street; David Lockyer Head of Development at British Land on Broadgate, including One Exchange Square, 1 Broadgate, 2FA and 1 Appold Street; James Cooksey Chief Executive Officer Old Park Lane Management on 20-22 Ropemaker; Philippa Simpson, Barbican COO; and Oliver Heywood of Allies and Morrison on the revitalisation of the Barbican Centre.

The tour will give a detailed and engaging overview of the City in transition: its dense urban landscape where heritage, infrastructure, commercial ambition, cultural investment and long-term place-making continue to shape this ancient but fast-growing global business district.

We will conclude the evening at with a reception kindly sponsored by Dolphin Solutions.
