Clay Sculpting COVID-Safe Social with Breathe Easy London (NW London) will take place at a location in NW London. The event will include mask-and-test-required clay sculpting. Prices range from free to £76.55.
A mask-and-test-required social at a NW London park (exact location sent after booking), with clay sculpting as the activity!
Come and join us for an al fresco summer afternoon of fun and safe socialising!
Our summer events are on now, so grab your picnic blankets and join us in a North West London park for another COVID-safe social!
We will have areas set up with board games, arts and crafts, and conversation prompts to help us all connect :).
This month we will have a special area set up for clay sculpting, if you feel like getting creative! Materials will be provided but feel free to bring your own clay and tools. Participation is completely optional.
If you would like to contribute to the cost of activities, if within your budget please consider selecting the Cover Your Own Costs or Pay What You Can ticket option - 100% of donations will go towards putting on more COVID-safe events in London!
Please feel free to bring your picnic blankets, camping chairs, cushions, and anything else you need to be comfortable!
FFP2/3 masks and proof of a negative test are required on arrival (and provided). This event will last for 3 hours.
NOTE: WE WILL ALSO BE ENCOURAGING AND PROVIDING LIP-READING MASKS FOR THIS EVENT AND ASK THAT THOSE WHO ARE ABLE TO CONSIDER USING THEM TO INCREASE ACCESSIBILITY FOR A HARD-OF-HEARING ATTENDEE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ORDER YOUR OWN THEY ARE AVAILABLE AT https://thefacemaskstore.co.uk/product/alpha-solway-hxc-3-ffp3-face-mask OR https://thefacemaskstore.co.uk/product/stealth-clarity-ffp3-transparent-face-mask.
We are specifically welcoming:
Disabled people (4x higher COVID mortality rate)
People of colour (32% long COVID rate)
Women (36% long COVID rate)
Trans people (48% long COVID rate)
Neurodivergent people (30% long COVID rate)
People with HIV (58% long COVID rate)
or anyone else at increased risk (or those who don't want to spread such a disease to the greater London community).
Governments and the public have decided to abandon infection control and endanger those around them, putting already-marginalised communities at risk of Long COVID, social isolation, and death.
We want to create spaces for people to socialise, find community, and have fun without putting themselves or others at risk of damage to their immune, cardiovascular, or nervous systems.
Pricing
This event is pay-what-you-can, with various ticket options available so that you can choose the best option for you (free options included). The costs of putting on an event are currently more than ticket sales cover (we've made an average loss of £28 for each event so far) so all donations are welcome to help Breathe Easy London become more self-sustaining! No profit is being made as 100% of donations will go towards putting on more COVID-safe events in London. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. You can find a full breakdown of our running costs at www.instagram.com/breatheeasyldn.
Covid safety at the event
Attendees will be greeted and asked to provide photo proof of a negative COVID test in the last 24 hours.
If attendees don't have the opportunity to take one beforehand, they will be provided and asked to take them away from the group.
After confirming negative tests, attendees will be provided an FFP2/3 mask (if they do not have their own) and invited to socialise with other attendees at various activity areas(board games, arts and crafts, conversation prompts, etc.).
For everyone's safety, please do not attend the event if you are unwell or have any unusual symptoms, especially signs or symptoms of respiratory illness such as a sore throat, runny nose, fever, etc. We can provide a refund on your donation at any time in the lead up to the event if you contact breatheeasyldn@gmail.com.
Attendees are welcome to ask organisers for an introduction to any group to break the ice.
After 20-30 minutes, we will invite guests to switch to a different activity or take a break if they wish, though this will not be required.
Standing will not be required for any portion of this event.
If you have any additional access needs (e.g. BSL interpreter, lip reading masks, etc.), have a medical mask exemption, have a medical requirement to wear a valved mask, or have any other questions about the event, please email breatheeasyldn@gmail.com. Those with mask exemptions and who medically need to wear a valved mask will be requred to take PlusLife test, which we will provide.
General safety at the event
As this event is being held in a public place (as opposed to having sole use of a private indoor space), the exact location of the event will not be shared publicly; it will be shared with all signed up attendees prior to the event. All of our volunteers have undergone antiracist, trauma-informed de-escalation training for the unlikely event of harassment.
