From 14 July to 20 August, join us every Wednesday and Thursday in the House for a rare behind-the-scenes opportunity to watch skilled conservationists at work as they carefully restore our magnificent Breakfast Room mirrors. Discover the artistry, precision and dedication behind this Red Listed Heritage Craft. Observe the conservation process up close, ask questions and learn more about the fascinating techniques used to preserve these historic treasures for future generations. Every Thursday at 1pm, enjoy a dedicated engagement session featuring live demonstrations and talks from one of our expert conservators. Visitors are welcome to ask questions throughout the day, except during moments when complete concentration is required for delicate conservation work. Young visitors can get hands-on too! The Breakfast Room will host a range of family-friendly activities, including colouring your own gilded frame using gold pencils, and air-dry clay pressing activities inspired by decorative heritage crafts House admission applies. Entry to the House begins at 11.00am, with last admission at 3.30pm. Come and experience these remarkable heritage skills in action and witness the careful restoration of some of the House's most beautiful collection.
