Characterised by its elegant curved silhouette, the Moon Boat Basket draws inspiration from the shape of a crescent moon gliding across the water. Combining practicality with sculptural beauty, this distinctive basket form showcases the versatility of bamboo and the ingenuity of traditional weaving techniques. In this beginner-friendly workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of bamboo weaving using pre-prepared bamboo strips and traditional methods. Guided step by step, you will create your own Moon Boat Basket while discovering the cultural significance of bamboo craftsmanship and its enduring role in everyday life across Asia. Working with bamboo offers a unique opportunity to connect with a natural material that has been used for centuries in basketry, architecture, and household objects.
