This class is for children aged 2 – 6 years and their parents/carers to move together to enjoy the benefits of creative dance. Each session focuses on building young dancers’ confidence and developing a wide range of movement skills, whilst nurturing the relationship between adult and child. The programme supports children’s natural love of movement in a structured yet relaxed environment, helping to develop spatial awareness, strength, balance, co-ordination and motor skills. Inspired by children’s stories, themes and props, children and adults experience playful movement activities and improvised movement explorations to enable creativity to flourish. Lisa Robbins Dance has been delivering creative dance classes across London since 2017, and at The Green in Nunhead since 2020. The class takes place in the wonderful Willow space on the ground floor which provides plenty of space for children (and adults) to let their imagination and physicality run wild. “My daughter really enjoys Lisa’s class. For days after the session, she re-enacts the movements at home. We love the music and the thoughtful touches – the links to rich texts and engaging props. Her body awareness has improved greatly over the weeks. And to be able to dance alongside her is a real treat. I always feel so energised after the session. I think it’s as much for me as it is for her!” “We love Lisa’s classes - they are so full of energy and creativity. And it’s a wonderful opportunity to spend time with your child one to one.” “One of the best classes we’ve ever done! Really original, kids stayed engaged and lots of fun and exercise for grown-ups too. Thank you!” “My daughter said it makes her happy and relaxed. I think it helps them connect to their bodies, understanding how they move but in a joyful way.” For further info please see: https://www.lisarobbinsdance.com/
