Solve spooky clues, explore Crouch End, collect stamps and treats, hunt for three hidden ghosts and help raise money for The Toy Project this October half-term.
The David Astburys Crouch End Halloween Trail is back for 2026 — and this year, we’re planning one to remember.
Now a much-loved part of the Crouch End Halloween calendar, our family Halloween trail welcomed more than 700 children last year, filling the neighbourhood with costumes, excited little explorers and plenty of Halloween fun.
This October half-term, we’re doing it all over again — with even more to look out for along the way.
Beginning at the David Astburys estate agents office in Crouch End, children will collect their Halloween trail map and a series of spooky clues before setting off around the neighbourhood to discover the participating stops.
Solve each clue, work out where you need to go next and visit some brilliant Crouch End businesses, collecting a stamp at every stop along the way.
There’ll also be treats, surprises and plenty of Halloween fun waiting at selected locations.
But this year, there’s a twist...
Can you find the three hidden ghosts?
Somewhere along the Crouch End Halloween Trail, we’ll be hiding three spooky ghosts.
Keep your eyes peeled while you solve the clues and explore the neighbourhood. Find all three and you’ll be in with the chance of winning a huge Halloween prize.
So don’t just follow the map — make sure you’re looking carefully along the way.
Fancy dress competition
We want to see Crouch End looking seriously spooky.
Fancy dress isn’t compulsory, but it is very much encouraged, because we’ll also be running a Halloween fancy dress competition.
Witches, ghosts, vampires, pumpkins, monsters, superheroes and completely original creations are all welcome.
Go all out — one brilliant costume will win a huge prize.
A family Halloween event in Crouch End this half-term
If you’re looking for things to do with children in Crouch End this October half-term, the Halloween Trail is a fun and affordable family adventure.
It’s part treasure hunt, part Halloween challenge and a brilliant way to explore Crouch End together.
The trail brings together some fantastic independent businesses and familiar Crouch End faces, giving local families the chance to discover somewhere new and support the businesses that make the neighbourhood such a special place.
Once all the clues have been cracked and the stamps collected, little explorers can return to David Astburys to claim their very well-deserved Halloween prize.
Whether you joined the hundreds of families who took part last year or this will be your first Crouch End Halloween Trail, everyone is welcome.
Raising money for The Toy Project
Most importantly, every ticket sold will help support The Toy Project, an incredible local charity giving unwanted toys a new life by recycling and redistributing them to children and families who need them.
All proceeds from the Crouch End Halloween Trail will be donated directly to The Toy Project.
So while children are solving clues, collecting stamps, hunting for ghosts and showing off their Halloween costumes, they’ll also be helping support something genuinely meaningful.
Last year, more than 700 children joined us.
This year, we’re planning one to remember.
Dig out the costumes, gather the family and get ready for an afternoon of clues, treats, hidden ghosts and Halloween fun around Crouch End.
