jazz re:freshed continues its Brixton pop-up residency with one of the UK's most exciting emerging jazz talents: south-east London-born alto saxophonist, composer and bandleader Donovan Haffner.

A multi-award-winning musician, Donovan has enjoyed an exceptional rise through the UK jazz scene, winning Breakthrough Act of the Year at the 2026 Jazz FM Awards, the Martin Hummel Award at the 2026 Parliamentary Jazz Awards and the Tina May Young Musician Award.

A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, Donovan's musical journey began at just 11 when he joined Tomorrow's Warriors, developing under the mentorship of Gary Crosby OBE, Binker Golding and Alex Davis. Since then, he has performed and toured with leading names including Moses Boyd, Jay Phelps and Balimaya, as well as appearing alongside Charles Tolliver's Big Band at the Barbican.

Expect an evening of vibrant contemporary jazz, rich musical storytelling and virtuosic live performance from a musician firmly establishing himself as one to watch.
