Facilitated outdoor workshop led by Lucy McGeown of London Drawing Group looking at the iconic UCL Wilkins building. Free.
About the Event
Join us for a special evening opening of UCL Art Museum for a free facilitated drawing workshop with Lucy McGeown. Inspired by the museum’s latest exhibition, the workshop will look at the iconic Wilkins building, introducing approaches to architectural drawing in a relaxed environment. The workshop will take place outside, and each date is a repeat of the same session.
Lucy McGeown is an artist whose art practice focuses on drawing and its links to sculpture making. She is a founding member of London Drawing Group and currently lives and works in Margate. Lucy is a passionate teacher who looks to find ways drawing can be used to better understand our environment and our experience of being in the world.
These workshops are part of the engagement programme for From Concept to Icon, an exhibition at UCL Art Museum exploring the evolution of UCL’s Wilkins Building from its origins in the 1820s to the present day. It draws upon new research by the Survey of London and brings together architectural drawings, artworks and archival material from the UCL Art Collection and UCL Special Collections.

This event is 14+, under 18s must be accompanied by an adult
About our ticketing
Because our free drawing workshops are so popular, we limit bookings to a maximum group size of two. This helps us manage our long waiting lists and easily contact people if a spot opens up.
Each date within this series is a repeat of the same workshop, so we kindly ask you only book onto one date so more people can experience the event.
Access
This workshop will take place inside UCL Art Museum Prints & Drawing Room and outside within the UCL Main Quad. Both are step-free and wheelchair accessible from street level.
Further information on museum access can be found here.
