About This Event

Big sounds from big engineers on big desks. This Sunday 18th October Sloppy Joe will be playing a selection of original vinyl from King Tubby’s, Scientist, Lee Scratch Perry and King Jammy. Spinning dub and reggae from Jamaica’s pioneering studios to the UK’s influential sound system culture. A showcase of engineers on original Jamaican and UK pressings from the 1970s and ’80s, we’ll be celebrating these producers and sonic explorers who pushed reggae into new dimensions. Expect heavyweight bass, hypnotic grooves, blissed out vocals on records made for the dance—played on our heavy hitting system at No 90.
