About This Event

Father Hell, the stage name of songwriter Mattie Vant, will perform his debut album 'Trust Some Machines' in full at SJQ on 10 December 2026. The performance will feature a cellist and a pianist, showcasing a blend of traditional and experimental sounds. Vant's work is described as a unique take on the singer-songwriter genre.

Sunderland-raised songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mattie Vant performs his debut album as Father Hell ('Trust Some Machines' - out 4.12.26) in full accompanied by a cellist and a pianist.

Across Trust Some Machines, Vant takes the familiar language of the singer-songwriter album somewhere considerably stranger. Nylon-string guitar, voice and cello give way to cheap 80s synthesisers, manipulated vocals and warped tape across an body of work Vant describes as "the only record I could have made."

The show follows a sold out solo performance at Southwark British Legion Club.
