An evening inspired by the rich musical history of St Peter’s and the musicians connected to it.

Florence Fest - Festival Concert

Did you know that some of the most important musicians of the twentieth century are buried at St Peter's? Composer Frederick Delius, founder of the London Philharmonic Orchestra Sir Thomas Beecham, and the cellist Beatrice Harrison can all be found in the churchyard.

This concert of classical music focusses on music by British composers Frederick Delius, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and their contemporaries. Internationally renowned tenor Mark Padmore will sing alongside opera star Marta Fontanals-Simmons, accompanied by harpist Olivia Jageurs. Other soloists include trumpeter Imogen Whitehead, cellist Abigail Hyde-Smith, and flautist Chloe Vincent.

The concert includes the first performance of songs by Robert Peate, inspired both by Delius and the bells of St Peter’s. We are grateful for the generous support of the Delius Trust.

All ticket sales and donations will benefit Kent-based baby loss charity Abigail's Footsteps, which provides bereavement care and support.
