Welcome in the Autumn with Folk Club's celebration of Lammas and the Harvest

Folk Club's Harvest Festival

Welcome to Folk Club! A place for the lost, found, and freshly made folklore and customs of the fair isles of Albion: Éire, Cymru, Alba and England

Folk Club are delighted to invite you to our Harvest Festival at Glengall Wharf Garden.

Lammas is the first harvest festival. Join us in celebrating the harvest with music, singing, a procession and Folk Club's very own mummers play.

A mix of old folk customs, new silly rituals, and revivalist tales, we'll be dancing in the turning year together.

There'll be a Hat Making workshop with Felix Matilda Rose, singing led by Elin Gittens, bread sculptures by Ola Otog and textiles by Hannah Danson.

Join us for The Procession winding around the garden before ending in Mummers 4 Lammas, with costumes by Theo Dunne.

After The Procession and Mummers play, we invite you to join us in eating together - so bring a blanket and bring some food.

More performers TBA.

Earlier in the day from 12-4pm F.A.T Studio will be running a Bring-Your-Own-Fruit Pressing Session at Glengall Wharf Garden, using their new communal fruit press, 'Clarke'. If you have surplus apples, pears or plums, bring them along on the day to make fresh juice, which can be enjoyed during the evening's festivities.

Folk Club is a place for all the lovers of folklore. It's a place to follow the year through the seasons and customs that mark it. Most of all it's a place for us to learn the lore of the land and its traditions together, one beautiful archive image and twisting tale at a time.
