Good Game Dev mini Fest '26 is a pay-if-you-want industry meetup, talks and DJ event taking place at Loading Bar in Dalston, London. The event is aimed at anyone who works in the games industry, or is trying to break in. Its open to anyone to make friends and help the community to be a good place to exist in.
If you're developing a game and would like people to playtest, please feel free to bring along your laptop and you can setup in one of the booths. Each has a plug socket below the seat.
SPEAKERS
Kyra Chan - Freelance COO
Kyra offers freelance Operations, Business Development, Leadership and People & Culture services, with a decade of experience in Executive and SLT positions within the games industry.
She works as fractional COO for Mother Ultimate where they use hardware, electronics and code to make products, games and experiences that couldn't exist in any other way.
All her other work is conducted through FoxChickenGrain where they provide strategic operations for game studios. They eliminate administrative drag so that dev teams can focus on the momentum of building great games.

Nick McKenzie - Development Director, State of Play
Nick started at State of Play as a contract Unity Developer and was promoted to Development Director in July 2026. He also runs his own indie studio, World Away Games.
Established in 2008, State of Play’s work has won a number of international awards, including a BAFTA for Artistic Achievement for our handmade puzzle adventure game Lumino City and the Apple Design Award 2016 for our game INKS. They’re a small team and they love what they do.

Andrew Smith- Managing Director, Spilt Milk Studios
Spilt Milk Studios is an independent game developer based in London, UK. Founded in 2010, they've released 10 games commercially - 9 of them original IP - as well as countless jam games, festival installations, charity efforts, prototypes and a significant amount of work for hire with some of the industry's biggest companies, including: Roll7, Robot Squid, Electric Square, AppyNation & more.
For their most recent original game, Trash Goblin, they raised development financing using Kickstarter.

Good Game Dev Club is organised by Harvey Hayman, with the permission and blessing of Loading Bar. The event is not affiliated with any organisations. Please join the Discord and let Harvey know if you have any questions.
Good Game Dev Club (normally) takes place on the first Thursday of every month.
Come talk game development, air your views about Unity licencing fees, discuss marketing strategy, celebrate the birth of a wave of new games journalism groups or discuss government games policy. It's all good.
Loading Bar has a load of games consoles setup with a monumental selection of board and video games, the perfect place to talk games.
