MARKUS BIRDMAN

From The Palladium to Pakistan, a highly experienced, versatile & award winning comedian, Markus is one of stand-up’s most well travelled comedians, much in demand in the UK and all over the world, and one of the very first British Comics to have his own Netflix Special - Live in Amsterdam. He has written and performed thirteen Edinburgh Festival Solo shows, and toured Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Scandinavia and throughout Europe, The Middle East and Far East. He has appeared on numerous TV and radio shows both in the UK and abroad, including a breakthrough appearance on Britain's Got Talent and Rosie Jones' Disability Extravaganza.

He often incorporates visual artwork & animations in his comedy performances. He has created numerous 24 hour murals as part of the comedian Mark Watson’s 24 hr Comedy shows, raising thousands of pounds for Comic Relief. After attending several Art Schools, and even managing to graduate from one, Markus became a Graffiti Artist, Muralist, Performance Poet and Glastonbury Festival Poetry Slam Champion. He can’t remember which year, he was fairly out of it. But it made him think being funny on stage might just work out! This path would eventually lead him to becoming an award winning Stand-Up Comedian and total don.

THOR STENHAUG

Channel 4 Sean Lock Award Nominee Thor Stenhaug is a Norwegian comedian based in London. He had a completely sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe 2025 with his debut show "One Night Stand Baby", which was listed by Chortle as the best-reviewed shows at the festival that year. Thor has headlined top comedy clubs across the country, and recently completed three runs at Soho Theatre, London.

Thor has offered tour support for Fern Brady, Josh Widdecombe, Larry Dean and Jack Dee, and was shortlisted for British Comedian of the Year - despite not being British (wonder what happened there.) His debut run in Edinburgh also saw him nominated for NextUp Biggest Award in Comedy and ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer.

“Norwegian comedy god of thunder has a storming debut.” ★★★★ The Scotsman

AND YOUR RESIDENT HOST:

BEN VAN DER VELDE

One of the quickest wits around and a much-loved compere, he always brings a jam-packed back of nonsense, silliness and wisecracks to every gig he hosts.

"Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue." Edinburgh Festivals Magazine

“The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage.” Huffington Post
