Join us for a special guided walk around this amazing nature reserve, created when land was saved from developers in the 1990s.

This community wildlife area was set up in 1994 (and declared a Local Nature Reserve in 2002) and has been transformed from two fields by the local community into a variety of habitats.

The site is a wonderful mixture of meadows, hedges, and woodland copses and also has a wetland area with a number of ponds and small pools, an orchard, a wildflower meadow and a butterfly garden. The reserves are managed in such a way as to gain maximum benefit for the flora and fauna, with increased biodiversity very much in mind.

Important information:

The walk is approximately 2 miles on footpaths and tracks with some small obstacles to navigate.

Trainers or walking boots are recommended as well as long trousers (due to the risk of ticks). We will walk at a gentle pace with lots of opportunities to stop and ask questions.

This walk is aimed at adults (18+ years old). Unfortunately this site is not suitable for wheelchair users or people with limited mobility. Please do not bring dogs on this walk.

Parking and meeting place:

We will meet at the gate on Vicarage Road, Lingfield, RH7 6HA. There is a bend in the middle of Vicarage Road by the post box - see map / image below

· Village car park (Gun Pit Road Car Park, RH7 6AP) is a 7 minute walk from the site and free for up to 3 hours (but you will need to display a ticket in your car).
