Make an adjustable hardwood bookshelf. This bookshelf can sit nicely on the kitchen counter to store your cookbooks, on your desk or sideboard. A project that introduces hardwood. You will learn how to measure and mark timber accurately, use a tenon saw, chisel, hand plane, pillar drill and bandsaw. Ideal for everyone with a hankering to ‘make’ rather than ‘assemble’ something in wood with traditional hand tools. This two day workshop is a great introduction if you lack time or commitment to take a longer course. In this safe and friendly workshop, you will learn how to plan your work, where and how to buy suitable wood for use in making simple projects at home. Using easy to follow directions in this ‘hands on’ practical workshop, you will learn how to measure and cut accurately, make a simple wood joint, wedged tusk tenons, paper joint and learn to create an exact slot for the shelf to sit on.
