About Harry Potter and The Cursed Child

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a new play by Jack Thorne, based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany. Set 19 years after Harry, Ron and Hermione saved the wizarding world, it follows them into a new adventure with a brave new generation at Hogwarts.

The production opened in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre in summer 2016 and is described as the most awarded play in history. It won a record-breaking nine Olivier Awards in 2017, including Best New Play and Best Director.

The story brings together spells, time travel and a race to stop mysterious forces, while Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs and his son Albus faces the weight of a family legacy he never wanted.

Running time: 2 hours, 55 minutes, including one 20 minute interval.

Before you book

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is recommended for children aged 8 and over. All persons entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a ticket. Children under 5 are not permitted, babes in arms are not admitted to the auditorium, and patrons under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

This production is a type of access performance.
