Join Pandit Debasis Chakroborty for an evening masterclass on Indian slide guitar on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, at Oasis Academy Silvertown, London. Presented as part of the Kala Festival 2026 UK tour, this three-hour workshop offers a rare opportunity to learn directly from one of the leading exponents of the Indian slide guitar. Rooted in the Senia-Maihar Gharana, the session explores the principles of Hindustani classical music through practical demonstrations and guided learning. The masterclass is open to participants of all experience levels and welcomes a wide range of stringed instruments, including acoustic and electric guitar, violin, cello, sitar, sarod, mandolin, and Indian slide guitar. Participants will learn techniques such as meend, andolan, and kan, while also exploring raga development, improvisation, rhythm, tala, and performance practice.
