Forget sketching – it’s time to get inky.
If you’ve dabbled in Drink & Draw or dipped into a Paint & Sip nights, it’s time to level up your creative evenings with a diffrent art form.
Industrious Lemon specialises in easy going printmaking classes – ‘Ink, Drink, Press!’
Suitable for beginners and seasoned artists looking for an activity to do over a few drinks.

What’s it all about?
This event is all about Dry-Point Etching. - A safe and acessable way to try etching and create highly professional and rich, experssive images.
Be guided through the process of how to make your printing plate, mix colours, ink up and use the specialist printing press!
All materials are of course provided.
Spend the first part of the evening creating your unique design by using a specialist tool to scratch your design into perspex plastic to create lines and areas that trap and hold ink. – Matches perfectly with drinks, food and catching up with your date/ friends/ or fellow participants.
Next, step up to the messy part! (No worries gloves provided) You’ll be choosing colour combos, mixing inks and having fun applying colour to your printing plate.
Finally, move on to the print table! A combination of damp paper and the pressure from the press, ensure that the paper is squeezed into the plate.
Peel to reveal that amazing print!
Then – Do it all again. Try a different set of colours.

Once we get printing everyone usually gets chatting and helps each other.
Expert approachable tutor on hand to give advice, support and reminders.

What if I think I’m no good at art?
Class is beginner friendly.
Simple designs are effective.
Templates are available for you to draw around

I’m already arty, will I get anything out of it?
Definitely, yes. Bring along an image or idea you have to use. Had some amazing work done at Ink, Drink, Press! by artists. Join us!
Our printing plates will be 15x10cm. Feel free to bring an image of that size to trace.
Remember the image will be reversed on the print.
Will I get messy?
We use glue sticks (collagarphs only) and water-based inks.
While inks are washable, certain colours may stain clothes. It hasn’t been a problem, but if you are very concerned either bring an apron or get in touch and we might be able to provide one.
Disposable gloves are provided and you can wash your hands.
I’m left-handed, am I catered for?
Yes, I provide lefty scissors when needed. The press can be run easily using either hand.
I’m not drinking alcohol, can I still come?
Of course! All welcome. Our venues provide a range of non-alcoholic drinks.
I’m hungry?
William the Fourth is host to Short Road Pizza.
Some of the very best pizza in East London.
Limited spaces so book now.
Numbers are kept to a limited number to ensure that there is plenty of time for everyone to use the shared equipment several times over.
