About Ivanov

Ivanov is Simon Stone’s contemporary production of Chekhov’s comic drama, following Nikolai as he tries to make sense of a life that should feel settled but does not. He has a successful career, a wife described as perfect, debts beginning to build and a wife who has recently been laid low with unexplained illnesses.

The story asks what is behind his growing sense that everything is coming apart. As a party at the Lebedevs’ draws near, Nikolai is left trying to save his marriage, his career and his will to live at the same time.
