About Ivanov Ivanov at the Bridge Theatre, London, follows Nikolai, a man who has forgotten how to be happy and is questioning whether he ever was. On paper, he has a successful career, a perfect wife and a life that should feel settled, but debts are mounting and his wife has recently been laid low with unexplained illnesses. Simon Stone brings Chekhov's comic drama into the contemporary world as Nikolai heads to a party at the Lebedevs' while trying to keep hold of his marriage, his career and his sense of purpose. The production comes from the same creative team that brought The Lady from the Sea to life. The story asks what is driving Nikolai's unhappiness, and whether he can steady things before everything falls apart.
