Tickets are priced between £10.00 and £15.00.
A informal wander from Limehouse to Wapping via Shadwell. Less scripted, less planned, more friendly, more spontaneous
This year there are four Summer Strolls – North, South, East and West.
This series of longer yet cheaper walks are friendly gatherings that offer more scope for chats and questions along the way because, whilst Jane will be stopping here and there to share her knowledge and point out places of interest, these are not scripted/planned routes, but linear strolls from A to B that allow us to discover new and interesting things together, whether archictectural, historical or quirky.
The routes are all appox 4.5 miles long with a refreshment break mid-way*
This East London route starts near Poplar station. We will admire the old High Street before heading past Westferry and along Narrow Street, looking at canals, parks and ropewalks to our mid-way refreshment stop*. Then, depending on tide levels, we might briefly visit the foreshore (but no mudlarking unless you have a valid permit) before investigating the fascinating old streets around Wapping High Street and the old dock walls. We aim to finish the walk at St Katharine Docks near Tower Hill/Gateway

*Lunch is not included in the ticket price. The 1-hr break will be at Shadwell Basin opposite The Prospect of Whitby pub where the regular Saturday market offers not just crafts and gifts but also a good selection of food stalls arranged round a central seating area which includes a licensed bar. If you haven't been here before you will be sure to return another day. The group will reconvene at approx 2pm to continue the walk.
Meeting point – this will be supplied after purchase – please see the FAQs below.
You can leave the tour at any time.
Or you might wish to join us at lunchtime – please make this clear via email after ticket purchase – details of the mid-way meeting point will be supplied by return email
There is no reduction in price for a half tour

Customer feedback: "We love your tours Jane and really enjoy these longer walks" / "Jane, you have become my favourite guide – I will keep coming back for more!!" / "We always look forward to your Winter Twixtmas walks because you've taken us down roads we would never have thought to explore before – it's nice to be able to do that together and we can boast that we were there when Jane found something for the first time, ha ha!" / "...so engaging, thanks to your delivery style and obvious thirst for knowledge" / More feedback here
My guiding style is inclusive, open and friendly. I design and research every tour myself – in fact, the research never ends. The walks and talks I offer are all on subjects that intrigue me and each one highlights a different facet of my personality. I am particularly interested in the architecture of our ever-changing streets and the little details on and above them. For more information, please visit www.janeslondonwalks.com
