**Make Pots. Meet People. Make Friends.** Join ceramic artist **Lucas Buttchewits** for a relaxed, hands-on introduction to pottery designed for all levels. Whether you've never touched clay before or already enjoy creative work, this workshop offers a welcoming, inclusive space to try something new while meeting others through a shared experience. During the session you'll explore traditional hand-building techniques including pinching, coiling and slab building to create your own tableware or decorative pieces. You'll also experiment with decorating your work using leaves and flowers to imprint natural textures, before adding colour and personality using painted slip. Lucas will guide you through every stage of the process, from shaping and decorating your piece to understanding how it will be glazed and kiln-fired after the workshop. But like all Friend of Dorothy events, this isn't just about the activity. It's about creating spaces where **gay, bi, trans, non-binary and queer people** can meet, talk and form real connections outside of apps and bars. With a small group and a relaxed creative atmosphere, it's easy to chat, laugh and get to know the people around you. All materials, tools and firings are included, and your favourite piece will be ready for collection a few weeks later. Come get creative. Meet new people. Leave with something beautifully handmade and a few new connections. 🌈 **The details** * When: Friday 16 October, 6:30pm to 8:30pm * Where: The Ministry, Borough (3 min walk from Borough station) * Runs: 2 hours * Price: £15, subsidised by Friend of Dorothy **How to book** Spots are limited, so please book your ticket here: [https://friend-of-dorothy.com/products/pottery-class-with-lucas-buttchewits](https://friend-of-dorothy.com/products/pottery-class-with-lucas-buttchewits) RSVPing on Meetup alone doesn't reserve a place.
