A sponsored walk will take place on 13th September 2026, starting at the London Buddhist Centre in London. The walk will raise money for the Globe Community project and will be between Triratna's four Buddhist centres across London.
Join us on Sunday 13th September 2026 for our sponsored walk.
Walk between Triratna's four Buddhist centres across London to raise money for Globe Community Project. Meet new people, rack up some steps and help create communities where everyone feels welcome and connected.
From Bethnal Green to Highbury, to Royal Oak to Brixton, then back to Bethnal Green, join us for one stage or take on the full 24-mile route. You'll be walking alongside others who want to make a difference.
As we journey across the city, we’ll pass through leafy parks, along canal towpaths, encounter birds and animals, as well as lively streets and local neighbourhoods, seeing London from a different perspective.
This isn't a race, it's about enjoying the journey, sharing conversations, making new connections and spending time together.
Along the way, we'll stop at each Buddhist centre for around 45 minutes to rest, enjoy refreshments, use the facilities and spend time together before continuing our journey. These breaks are a chance to recharge, meet fellow walkers and enjoy the warm welcome at each centre.
You don't have to complete the whole route. You're welcome to join us for one stage, a few stages or the full day. Whatever distance you choose, you'll be part of one community walking together through London.
The Route
Stage 1 - London Buddhist Centre to North London Buddhist Centre, (08:00–09:45) approx 1 hour 45 minutes)
Stage 2 - North London Buddhist Centre to West London Buddhist Centre, 10:30–13:00 (approx 2 hours 30 minutes)
Stage 3- West London Buddhist Centre to Brixton Buddhist Community, 13:45–16:45 (approx 3 hours)
Stage 4 - Brixton Buddhist Community to London Buddhist Centre, 17:30–20:30 (approx 3 hours)
Timings are a guide and may vary slightly on the day depending on the group's walking pace and breaks.
There are at least 2 free public toilet stops mapped for each stage.
Sponsorship
We kindly ask everyone taking part to raise sponsorship to support Globe Community Project, with suggested fundraising targets of £100, £250 or £500.
Every pound you raise will support our work bringing people together, reducing loneliness and creating welcoming communities where everyone feels they belong.
Why walk with us?
At Globe Community Project, we believe everyone deserves to feel they belong. By taking part in the London Mandala Sponsored Walk, you're helping us create spaces where isolated older adults and newly-arrived refugees can build friendships, improve their wellbeing and find a sense of belonging.
Every step you take and every donation you raise will help make a real difference.
Whether you come with friends, family or on your own, you'll be warmly welcomed. We hope you'll leave with new friendships, a new perspective on London, happy memories and the knowledge that you've helped support your community.
We'd love you to walk with us.
