Maya Donovan is a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter who has made music since she was a child. She released her first full-length project, Ceremony, in July 2026. Its eight tracks boast the sincerity, confidence, and reflection that comes only after years of honing one’s craft. The record, produced by Jon Nellen (Big Thief, Orville Peck), has garnered attention from the likes of John Mayer, who declared that the song “Georgia the Ceremonialist" is “recorded like a hug,” specifically, a “low on your chest” kind of hug, and Adrianne Lenker, who lent backing vocals on the track after hearing its brilliance.
