What to Expect

Music Industry Mondays (MIM) is a free weekly event series held every Monday, bringing artists, creatives, and industry professionals together with guest speakers from across the music industry. Each session explores a different area of the business - from artists and managers to labels, festivals, publishing, marketing, and beyond. Expect honest insight, practical advice, and real-world experience, followed by an open mic and open Q&A.

Meet This Week’s Guests

Jojo Mukeza

Jojo Mukeza is an Ivor-nominated producer, lecturer and A&R professional with extensive experience across music production, artist development and the wider creative industry. Alongside his work at LCCM, Jojo has worked with leading artists and music professionals, bringing his industry experience into the classroom through production, cultural and contextual music history, and artist development.

Sahil

Sahil is a musical director, keyboardist and multi-instrumentalist whose credits include Jessie J, Sam Ryder, Sister Sledge, Jocelyn Brown and Teedra Moses . He currently performs with British R&B artist Sasha Keable and is an active session musician across London's live music scene, regularly appearing at venues including Ronnie Scott's and Jazz Café .

With a background spanning keys, drums, bass, guitar and vocals, Sahil works across live performance, music agencies, jam nights and creative communities throughout London. At LCCM, he leads Professional Performance and MMus Performance modules while also teaching harmony, theory, ear training and piano.

Charlene

Charlene is a South London-born vocalist and songwriter with a deep-rooted passion for harmony, soul and storytelling. Influenced by artists ranging from Marvin Gaye and Joni Mitchell to Bob Marley, The Clark Sisters, Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder, her work spans performance, songwriting and recording across genres.

Her recording credits include work with Clinton Jordan, Ahrel Lumzy and Jermaine Holmes , while more recent collaborations include songwriting with Jesse Johnson of The Time , with her vocals also featuring on music by Victoria Port and Connie Constance . As both an artist and educator, Charlene brings a strong focus on vocal expression, harmony, musicality and the emotional connection at the heart of a song.
