NIGHT WALK ON TOOTING COMMON is a two-hour immersive experience in Tooting Common woods, taking place on 28 October 2026. Participants will engage with the night forest through silence, folklore, poetry, and reflective questions, aiming to awaken their senses and explore personal challenges. The event encourages a slow walk beneath the trees, listening to the natural world, and includes opportunities for individual reflection.
What might the darkness of the forest reveal when we stop trying to analyse, explain and control everything?
The Wisdom of the Forest Night is a gentle, immersive two-hour pilgrimage into Tooting Common woods. As twilight gives way to darkness, we will slow down, awaken our senses and allow the night forest to become our guide.
You are invited to bring a live opportunity, challenge or dilemma to explore through silence, folklore, poetry, simple ritual and reflective questions. We are aiming to listen not only to the thinking mind but to the body, imagination, intuition and the living presence of the forest.
We will cross a threshold into the twilight, walk slowly beneath the trees, spend time listening to the more-than-human world, look towards the night sky and return to the warmth of the fire. There will be opportunities to reflect alone and if you wish, to share with another person.
This is an invitation to experience darkness not simply as something to fear, but as a fertile place of mystery, deep listening and unexpected hope.
The evening may help you
· become more at ease with uncertainty and not knowing
· listen more deeply to your senses and intuition
· discover a different relationship with change
· experience the companionship and wisdom of the night forest
· leave with a simple symbolic practice for approaching a difficult transition
No previous experience of night walking is needed. Simply come warmly dressed, with a willingness to slow down, pay attention and meet the forest with respect.
The Wisdom of the Forest Night will be guided by Mike Mullins coach and nature facilitator.
