About Oh, Mary!

Oh, Mary! at Trafalgar Theatre, London, is a dark comedy by Cole Escola, directed by Sam Pinkleton. It centres on Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, and explores unrequited yearning, alcoholism and suppressed desires through an 80-minute one-act play.

The production has won Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play, for Cole Escola, and Best Direction of a Play, for Sam Pinkleton. The New York Times called it “one of the best comedies in years”, and Time Out described it as “dizzyingly, breathtakingly funny”.

For the London transfer, the production also features Mason Alexander Park, with Kate O’Donnell, Oliver Stockley, Dino Fetscher and Giles Terera.

Running time: 1 hour 20 minutes, with no intermission.
