Past Made Present is a contemporary design exhibition at Ham House and Garden in London. The showcase features innovative projects and prototypes inspired by the venue's seventeenth-century interiors and gardens. Admission is required.
Inspired by Ham House's remarkable seventeenth-century interiors and gardens, the exhibition brings together innovative projects and prototypes created by Kingston University design students in collaboration with the university’s interdisciplinary alumni group, The Storybox Collective, and the National Trust.
Contemporary design responses on display throughout the house (open 11.30am to 3.30pm), and in the garden (open 10am to 5pm), will explore accessibility, materials and storytelling, offering new ways to experience one of Britain's most intriguing historic houses. The event is a continuation of our collaboration with The Storybox Collective, following an exhibition last autumn.
Developed in response to the National Trust's mission to care for and share the nation's natural and cultural heritage with all audiences, Past Made Present connects archival research, material experimentation and future-focused thinking to share fresh perspectives and invite audiences to explore how design can reveal new connections between people, place and history. This year’s exhibition is running as part of London Design Festival.
